Infection Control Today® speaks with the 2023 Infection Control Today’s Educator of the Year Award™ winner, Sharon Ward-Fore, MS, MT,(ASCP), CIC, FAPIC

Infection control and prevention remain crucial in health care, ensuring the safety of patients and staff from infectious diseases. Everyone in infection prevention and control, from infection preventionists to environmental hygienists, plays vital roles, often serving as educators who impart essential knowledge about infection control processes. Recognizing this, Infection Control Today® is proud to announce the return of the Infection Control Today Educator of the Year Award™ for 2024. The award, which was previously given from 1999 until 2010, was revived in 2023, with Sharon Ward-Fore, MS, MT,(ASCP), CIC, FAPIC, as the winner.

Nominees must have at least 15 years of experience and demonstrate significant achievements and positive changes in their field. Nominations should be made by a fellow infection prevention professional and should be as detailed as possible.

Nominations for the 2024 award will be accepted from August 1, 2024, until November 1, 2024. The winner will be notified by December 2, 2024, and announced on the Infection Control Today website on December 5, 2024, and in the January/February 2025 print publication.
